Are you early or nocturnal? Write the pros and cons of being one

Balance in nature – Sun and Moon, Day and Night, Hot and Cold, Black and White. You can be someone who rises with Sun or wants to remain awake with the Moon. You can also be both.

One who soaks in the sunlight is not less or more amazing than the person who wants to immerse in the moonlight. You are both different yet wonderful. The differences let us appreciate all that exists in nature and create a balance.

Early or Nocturnal means morning or night person or simply who likes to wake up early or someone who likes to remain awake till late at night.

You may be someone who wants to rise early and look out for the sun and enjoy your tea or coffee, or you can be someone who likes to sneak into the quiet night with crickets in the background and a book in the hand.

Pros and cons are part of everything. Nothing is perfect. Everything depends on how well you manage your daily tasks and take care of your health, bringing about a balance in your life.

Take some time and share whether you are an early riser or night owl.

I am a morning person. Nothing soothes me more than the calmness of the early morning, and the sunrise makes my day. As a morning person, I find it productive as most of my tasks get done during the morning hours. I do not need to rush for those tasks throughout the day.

Morning time is my time. I sit in my balcony garden, watch the sunrise with a cup of tea in my hand and feel the warmth. The fresh air and the peace, I love that combination. Soon after this time with myself, I get going for my daily exercise. Being a morning person, I find it very amusing. My mind is clear and calm, and it helps me start my day on a positive note.

Simply breath-in and Breath-out in the morning keep me balanced all day. Morning person or Night-owl, we all get used to the routine we create for ourselves, and sooner or later, we should make it productive and energizing in some or the other way.

So keep doing great – early or nocturnal, just remember to make your life productive each day. Knowing that you are early or nocturnal will help you know more about yourself.

I will end today’s challenge with the mesmerizing click of a sunrise. Wish you a great day ahead and no matter what we all need to shine even in the dark.

How to improve vocabulary?

Vocabulary is an essential part of writing. It enhances the representation of your thoughts in a way that is more appealing to the audience. Those who want to improve their vocabulary and improve their writing projects should read the below article. I have come up with the five most impactful ways to do it. You have to be regular and committed to your goal. If you wish to improve, then you have to put in the required effort.

  1. Read the newspaper
Newspapers

Read, read and read. But you need to do an active reading. You need to pay attention to details and context. It is important that you make it a habit to daily read the newspaper. Most vocabulary improvement happens through this. You read the newspaper carefully, and as you come across any unfamiliar word, circle it and make it a point to learn ten new words each day. You can start with five.

5-10 words a day looks less, but gradually it will add up to build a strong vocabulary list. Reading newspapers helps to improve vocabulary and also keeps you updated with all the happenings around you. So it’s a win-win situation.

You can also use this technique while you are reading novels or magazines.

  1. Form sentences, and use the words during conversations

When you learn a new word, you tend to forget that word soon after days of not using it. As you are learning new words, try to create sentences using those words. Using it in a real-life scenario will help you retain it.

Read the sentences daily, and make sure you use the word in your conversation. When you use that during conversations, you help yourself memorize it, and your friend too learns a new word.

It is one of the best practices if you want to improve vocabulary since you cannot write and create a pile of words you do not wish to use. Start using it in your daily life.

  1. Take help of books and apps

Numerous books will help you improve your vocabulary. I would suggest you take one book at a time and try to learn from it. The best book for building vocabulary is Norman Lewis’s Word Power Made Easy. You might be familiar with it, and if not, grab one and start reading. It has a good approach that helps you learn quickly.

Synonyms for word

You can also refer to the Thesaurus online. It has a bundle of synonyms, antonyms, word games, meanings of words, and “word of the day”. So you can utilize that and try to replace your words with one of the words in there. Like if you want to write beautiful, find alternative words for beautiful, and you will see that soon you can express the sentences with rich vocabulary.

There are many apps available on smartphones to enhance your vocabulary. Some of them are:

  • Improve English: Vocabulary, Grammar, Flashcards (Knudge.me): It is a productive application. You can learn new words with pronunciation, meaning, and usage. It is a free app.
  • Vocabulary – Learn New Words (Monkey taps): You can setup up a time and number of words you want to learn every day. It is free for three days, and then you need to subscribe.
  • Vocabulary Builder – Test Prep (Magoosh): It is a free app, which has options to select the purpose like GRE, and as you choose the purpose, you get to see different levels.

We spend most of our time using our smartphones, so it comes in handy to learn anywhere and anytime. Happy learning!

  1. Social media at its best

Nowadays most of us use social media platforms to connect and post about our life. You can use this tool to enhance your vocabulary too. If you like posting daily or putting stories on Instagram or Facebook, you can use the new words and write short quotes. Post the quotes regularly. It will be a fun way, and it will keep you excited to create new sentences too. Keep the content interesting!

You can see your posts and retain those words too. That could be a very productive use of social media. As a writer, it will enhance your vocabulary and create quality stories. It will help you get the creative side of your brain gets going. You can create posters and put a tagline using that word.

Another way to make good use of social media is by joining groups. You get to learn a new word daily and also participate in games.

  1. Play games
Scrabble

Many games can help you learn new words. One of them is Scrabble. You can also solve the crosswords that you get in your newspaper or online. Apart from this you can create fun games of your own and play with your friends or cousins.

For example, You can say a word, and your friend has to say another word with the last letter. If you said “ravishing”, your friend will have to say a word that starts with “G” and the chain goes on. This is a great way to learn from your peers too.

I hope this article on improving vocabulary benefits you in all ways possible. Also, I hope the writing challenge to explore whether you are early or nocturnal helped you know more about yourself.
