Day 5 – Gratitude Challenge – Something that eases your stress

Welcome to Day 5 of the Gratitude Challenge. Today we will remind ourselves what eases our stress and brings us peace and happiness when we need it most. Look around and try to see if there was anyone or anything that helped you overcome a problem or a situation that caused you stress and be thankful for that.

In this challenge, we will offer gratitude to the ones who have helped us in any way small or big. Even if people have hurt you, they have helped you learn some lessons that you need to know about them, yourself, and life. Be thankful for those lessons too.

If there is no one you can think of, think about yourself and how you overcame a situation that caused stress. Be thankful to yourself and give yourself the love you deserve. There can be lots of ways to ease stress like yoga, meditation, randomly throwing water over someone and starting a water fight, or cleaning your room and feeling happy.

You choose what keeps you at peace. Do not let your mind drive you anxious with all the thoughts about the past, present, and future. Let go of what you can no longer control. Now is the time to calm down and move forward. Learn to keep the balance in life. If you are too stressed all the time, things are not going to get better but instead can become worse.

This gratitude challenge is all about accepting that life does not go as per our plans but we can learn to be grateful for all that we have now. If there is even one thing in your life that soothes your anxious mind, be grateful for that. If you do not know it yet, think about it and explore. Nobody will do it for you and it is your responsibility to let the stress go and you learn to handle it. Getting upset is not an issue but prolonged sadness will hamper your physical and mental health.

Choose to take care of your health and be grateful for being able to do things even if it is just making coffee just the way you love or having people who help ease your stress.

Note down in your diary what you are stressed about and throw it out of your mind. What you can do about the thing that is stressing you out. Talk to someone or do things that help you overcome it or simply be calm and let the situation pass if possible and appropriate for your situation.
