Day 13 – Gratitude Challenge – A decision that changed your life
Welcome to Day 13 of the Gratitude Challenge. Today we will focus on the decisions we make and how decisions change our lives. We will express gratitude for being able to make decisions and taking responsibility for them. The consequences may be good or bad, but they surely change our lives. That is a risk we should be willing to take if we want to change our lives.

Making decisions is not an easy task. It’s tumultuous and gives us anxiety to even think about how it will impact others and how they might feel. We can focus on many aspects while deciding how it will change our and others’ lives by checking the pros and cons and what our mind, heart, and soul speak to us.
Let us focus on that one decision that changed our life. It can be a good change or a bad one in the beginning but later turned out to be good for us. We shall express gratitude for being able to take that decision however hard it seemed and change our life.
Sometimes not making a decision is also a decision. It is more like going with the flow and living life as it comes. However hard it is to believe, we do not have 100% control over everything in our lives even if we try. But it does not tell us to not make an effort from our end.
5 ways to help you think clearly and make a decision
- Meditate on it
Burn a candle and focus. Continue the meditation for 10-15 minutes. It will help you clear your mind of chaos and let you think about what you truly want.
- Take a notepad and write your thoughts continuously for 10-15 minutes without rationalizing
Writing down your thoughts is another helpful way to clear your mind. When you take the unnecessary worries and fear out of your mind, you will be able to think about what decision is right for you.
- Take help from people who have already faced a similar problem
Asking for help is another way to reach the decision-making point. Once you know the consequences of the action, you will know what decision to make and you will also get to know whether you are willing to take risks associated with it or not.
- Take a break
Sometimes you need to take a break from thinking too much and come back to it when you are ready to make a decision. It has happened to me. Once I tried to make a very difficult decision but was not able to, then I decided to give it a break and come back to it later. By the time I took a break, I got to know a few things which helped me make a proper decision.
- Make a pros and cons list
When you are stuck with a problem and want to make a decision rationally, then it is good to write down the good and the bad things that will be the consequences of taking that particular decision so that you know how it is going to impact your life
I wish you all the best and hope your life turns out to be great with whatever decision you decide to make. Always believe in your potential to change your life and for changing lives, we need to take action and make decisions.
