Day 14 – Gratitude Challenge – Music you love

Welcome to Day 14 of the Gratitude Challenge. Today, you will focus on the music you love. Imagine a world without music. Is that right? There is all kinds of music around us, instrumental or vocal. Music teaches us that it is important to have rhythm in our lives—the right notes that create a melodic flow. We will express our gratitude to all the musical instruments and also to the people who play them and sing along.

A song or voice always soothes us and connects with our emotions. Whether we want to dance at a party, take a cup of tea and sit near the window and play old songs, or suddenly, a song plays while commuting and reminds us of a moment. The moment can be happy or sad, but it has a lot of effect on our minds.

There have been times when music has changed our mood or made it worse. Music has a direct connection with our hearts. When we feel lonely, we crave music that soothes and calms us down.

Which is your favorite genre of music? Or your favorite singer? Or favourite Instrument?

Here is a task for you:

Find that instrument that speaks to you and that you feel most connected to. Try to explore it – when it was created, who created and if possible try to learn to play it too. The type of instrument you like says a lot about you and you get to know yourself better.

This task cannot be completed in a day but you can surely start exploring it.

I love instrumental music. I had also started the search for my instrument as a bucket list and ended up knowing that I liked Cello. I thought earlier that I liked Guitar but came to know the kind of music I like. I went to the music instrument shop and when I looked at Cello, I instantly knew it was my instrument that soothed me. I would love to learn Cello someday.

The kind of struggles we go through in our daily life, it is very important that we know ourselves and what helps us calm down, what motivates us, what keeps us disciplined, what keeps us happy, and what makes us better. Music plays a very important role in that.

We often listen to music while traveling and we are so engrossed in our music that we do not feel the distance that we cover and end up feeling good. It also helps us to not overthink when we are idle.

Another task:

  • Find the kind of music you like. Try to explore the genres, and try listening to different kinds of music which you have never tried. You will find out your new favorites or you may end up knowing the kind of music you do not prefer at all.
  • Try to find the musician also that you like and observe how they play. I went to a concert and I was so amazed to see the kind of love a musician has for the music he plays. He was so immersed in the rhythm and he loved each piece he played not just because he was getting paid.

Express your gratitude towards music by thanking all those who contribute to it each day. You can try multiple things to express gratitude like the tasks I mentioned or you can find a new one based on your liking.
