List three things you are grateful for and why?

Once upon a time, there was a little firefly, who lost her way. She would travel far glowing within and light up wherever she goes. Around the tree, she would swirl and seldom remain still. Cursing the darkness around, she would thank the light that glows her path. Seemed content, she knows and appreciates the blessings indeed. She was never lost.

The glow within each one of us is precious. Never let the darkness belittle that.

Being grateful does not have to be attached to a great victory. It can be as small as a sunrise or an innocent smile from a stranger. Why do we attach our gratitude to something big? Why do we need to wait for a big day to thank ourselves for making that little effort to be happy?

You can be grateful for many things if you truly know how to count your blessings. Look through the eyes of those who are content with their present.

Gratitude lets us appreciate all that is around us and nourishes us each day. From the morning sunlight to the vegetables and fruits, till the water and people who care. Notice all that you have before you make any further wishes to have more.

Being ambitious is not bad, but do not let it blind you and keep you astray from feeling grateful for what you have in your present life.

When you think about the three things today, go deeper with each thing and let your thought enter the core of your heart.

Life gives us all kinds of experience but what helps us survive are those little good things and goals that make us wake up every morning and look forward to it as a new day to accomplish new targets. Most of the time, we are whining about the things that are going wrong in our life. Let us notice three things that we are grateful for in our lives and why.

  • Parents

The first thing would be my parents. There are innumerable reasons to be grateful for being able to spend time with my parents. In this covid-19 pandemic situation, when things fell apart, and everything around us turned negative, I came closer to my family and got to see that no matter what, they will never leave my side.

  • Friends

The second thing I am grateful for is the presence of friends in my life. Friendship is a kind of relationship that you choose and share a loving and sharing bond beyond expectations. I would never be able to ask for more than what I received from my friends.

  • Jade Plant

The third thing I am grateful for is my new jade plant which adds so much to my life. Every morning I wake up and sit with a cup of tea in my balcony garden with this plant beside me. It brightens up my day. As I water it daily, I can feel it grow each day and make my days happier.

With this, I conclude today’s article with the beautiful jade plant in my balcony garden.

Top 10 ways to improve writing skills:

  • Be a daily writer

To improve writing skills, the first and foremost thing to do is keep writing. When you take the plunge to improve your writing skill, you need to keep yourself motivated enough to keep writing every day. If you love to write but find it difficult to write daily, make sure you start small and do not overwhelm yourself with a lot of effort.

  • Practice with simple things

Words matter, but what matters more than words is the thought behind them. How well you can put down your thoughts makes a difference in improving your writing skills. Take an object and spin a story around it or take a situation and write about it. These simple things you do moves you closer to a better writer.

Once you start writing about things you like around you, you will see a gradual improvement in your writing.

  • Get reviewed

One of the better ways to check the improvement is to get it reviewed. And the review has to be from the beginning. Let the person read your first piece of writing, get feedback on it and keep writing with improvements and then after a gap of every ten articles, get it again reviewed and check with the same person.

You can share it with a group of people who can be your friend or mentor who are good writers themselves.

  • Join an internship

One of the best ways to learn is to take up responsibility and learn from it. There are multiple internships that you can undertake and learn from the experience.

Internships are a great way to get real-time feedback that pays you for getting published, not just writing. So it helps you get a check on the level of your writing skills and helps take it to the next level. It has a pressure that it carries with it to push you to become better.

Take small steps daily. Follow the steps in a sequence – first, become a daily writer, get feedback from friends and mentors, practice and learn and then move to this step when you feel ready to take up the responsibility.
