Write about a gift you have always cherished

Gifts are always our cherished possessions. We love our gifts, either someone else gifted us or we have treated ourselves someday. There can be multiple interpretations of what we can call a gift. It can be something tangible or non-tangible.

When someone we care about gives us a gift, we value it more for the effort and thought they put into buying that gift or creating it. I always created cards and gifts for my friends and they would always cherish them.

The good life we have is a gift of God indeed. The more grateful we are, the more prosperous our life becomes. Cherishing a gift gives us a happy state of mind and we will feel happier when we gift someone something they would cherish for life.

When you choose the gift that you cherish, remember to acknowledge all that is good and happy. You have the choice to choose your abundance. Even if you have one gift to cherish, it is more than enough for a long time in your life. We should always choose quality over quantity and emotions over price.

Many times we get gifts from people who did all they could do to give us a happy moment. Always be grateful for that. I have one gift from my friend who is very close to me and it’s been more than 9 years since I got it for my birthday. Every time I see it, it reminds me of my worth and my transformation. It’s a painting of a butterfly with a beautiful message on it. We share the bond where we grow and help each other transform our lives and there is nothing better than a butterfly to represent our friendship.

Top 5 tools for recording ideas

Imagine you are taking a bus ride to your workplace and you are suddenly hit by an idea, related to your professional or personal life or goals. If you do not record or store it anywhere, it is soon going to leave that space of your mind and something else will take its place and your idea will never become tangible.

An idea without action or plan will never lead to anything greater in our life. Ideas are precious and you never know when an idea can change your life. Why leave it to chance or luck when you have your ideas to work on?

Ideas

You must have some tool where you can write down your ideas or save your ideas and look at them later and brainstorm about them. The first step to a successful venture is getting that idea and not letting it slip out of your mind. You can get inspired by others’ ideas also so you should also save them and take inspiration to get your ideas.

Evernote is one of the most useful applications I have ever used. I have been using this app and it seems to fulfill all criteria of a good app for recording ideas. You can write or record your voice too and that’s amazing.

Evernote

Sometimes you are too bored to write, you can just speak and voice record your ideas and store them so that you can come back later. Our memory is not that strong that you can remember ideas all the time. You need to keep it somewhere that you have access to when needed.

There are three versions of the application: Free, Premium, and Business. I am using the Free plan and it works just fine for me. If you need more features, you can take a trial version and check out how it works out for you. Evernote is available online as well as a mobile application.

Google docs is another application that helps you to record your ideas textually. You can download the app and whenever you feel like an idea pops into your mind, note it down.

There is an in-build notes app on our phone but when you have a folder named “Ideas” in a particular application, you will know where to look when you are out of ideas. We generally do not remember the things we store in our phone notes. So it is better to put aside a particular app for recording your ideas.

  • Notebook and Pen

It is one of the effective tools to note down and record your ideas on paper. You can always have a small notebook where you ramble down every idea that crosses your mind. This way you can filter out many ideas and take that one idea that looks promising. You can also create mind maps to lead to a better idea.

Below are some of the notebook options:

  1. Softcover Pocket size Notebook (A6 size)
  1. Hard-bound Spiral Notebook (A5 size)

Pinterest is a wonderful image-centric platform to get inspiration from others. The best part of Pinterest is to save the other’s pins into a board that you create and you not only inspire yourself but others too.

You also have the option to create idea pins where you can use your images or videos and publish them and let others comment also. It is possible for business accounts. Idea pins will be visible in the home feed and it is a great way to share your ideas.

This is also one of the amazing applications that I have used. You can easily save and record your ideas. Register and create a Microsoft account and everything is set. You can also organize your notes.

I hope the post on Top 5 tools for recording ideas helps you record your ideas and take action towards getting ahead by accomplishing your goals.
